Dr. Idris Muhammad Sani is the new Executive Secretary/CEO of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education, having been appointed by President Bola Tinubu.

According to a statement from the president’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, Dr. Muhammad Sani is a doctorate and master’s degree holder in Islamic Studies. He has also held a number of distinguished positions, such as Commissioner of Basic/Secondary Education in Yobe State and Director-General of Al-Iman School Lafia.

In addition, he held the positions of secretary general for the Association of Private Schools in Nasarawa State and chairman of the Nigerian Arabic Language Village in Borno State.

Ngelale continued, saying that President Tinubu had revoked the appointment of retired Brig.-Gen. Lawal Ja’afaru Isa (Rtd.) as the commission’s executive secretary in light of Dr. Sani’s appointment.

General Isa was named CEO of the commission by Tinubu last week following the dismissal of Mr. Sha’aban Sharada.

As chairman of the board, Brig. Gen. Isa (Rtd) will now guide the commission.
