Shehu Sani supporters dump APC for SDP

NEWS DIGEST – Supporters of Kaduna state senator, Shehu Sani have started dropping to Socialist Democratic Party ,THE NEWS DIGEST can report.

This is coming as Hakeem Baba-Ahmed dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress earlier today. Although, he did not announce a destination, checks by this newspaper shows that he is most likely to decamp to Socialist Democratic Party.

Hakeem Baba had said he left after consulting with his Akida group, although Mr Hakeem is the Chief of Staff to incumbent Senate President Bukola Saraki, he hails from Kaduna state and belongs to the Akida group.

The group was formed after some members of the All Progressives Congress in Kaduna state accused Governor Nasir ElRufai of high handedness, Senator Shehu Sani who has been at loggerheads with Mr El-rufai Is also a member of the Akida group which Mr Ahmed said I consulted before deciding to decamp.

Further checks showed that in May 2018, the Akida group threatened to pull out of the ruling All progressives congress with Senator Shehu Sani saying he is on verge of exit.

Few days ago, the All Progressives Congress described Senator Sani as a misrepresentation which they promised to correct in 2019 while Senator Sani has not hidden his desire to become the next governor of Kaduna state.

Checks by this Newspaper showed that members of the Akida group have been openly announcing their move from APC to Socialist Democratic Party.

On June 28, at 10:30pm Saleem Tee Abba a supporter of Hakeem Baba-Ahmed and a Member of the Akida group announced that “we decamped from APC to SDP” with a public show show his new membership card (picture attached in this report).

Another member and supporter of Baba-Ahmed Hakeem, Nuhu Basheer Masa announced his defection to the Socialist Democratic Party (Picture attached in this report).   For Nuhu Basheer Masa, he has become the Vice Chairman 1, for Zaria local government, Kaduna North in Kaduna state.

Zaria is a historic kingdom, traditional emirate, and local government councilin Kaduna State, northern Nigeria, with its headquarters at Zaria ( q.v. ) city. Its area includes the traditional emirate of Zaria and Jemaa town.

While Mr Hakeem has refused to name the party he is joining stating that he has not yet decided on joining any party, insider information has it that this detection may signal many of other defections for members of the party who belong to the group, it remains rather unclear why the Chief of Staff of the Senate President has decided not to reveal any party.

Mr Shehu Sani and Governor El- Rufai clash degenerated into cursing of three senators by the Kaduna state governor .

Although,Senator Sani has not come out to state his official deflection especially after the All Progressives Congress disowned him feelers have it that he may not stay in the party for too long.

This newspaper tried to reach the office of the Senate President to confirm if his (Hakeem Baba-Ahmed) defection will affect his job as Chief of Staff to Senator Bukola Saraki but could not reach the Senate President office as at the time of this report.
