The Sokoto State Governorship Elections Petition Tribunal has upheld Ahmed Aliyu’s election as governor of the state.

In its verdict, the tribunal’s three-member panel led by Justice Haruna Msheila dismissed the case of the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Saidu Umar, disputing the governor’s victory in the March 18 election.
The petitioners failed to show their claims beyond a reasonable doubt, according to the panel.
