According to reports, American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey has made over $6 million a year from Christmas songs on streaming services, which are dominating the music industry.

She has been making money around Christmas for decades, which has caused her net worth to soar to over $350 million at this point.

Based on 94,000 downloads and 823 million streams, the song “All I Want for Christmas Is You” by her brought in about $6.16 million in master recording and publishing royalties in 2021.

As one of the song’s two writers, Carey could earn roughly $1.55 million from the master recording revenue in 2021, according to Billboard. If she and her co-writer each contributed 50% of the song, her share of the publishing revenue would be roughly $830,000, though the percentages may differ.

According to Billboard, Sony Music, Carey’s company, makes a sizable profit on the song’s 2021 performance, taking home an estimated $2.95 million.
