Media personality Toke Makinwa claimed that during the COP28 Climate Summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, she accomplished everything she had set out to do.

Toke’s appearance on Nigeria’s 1,411 delegation list sparked outrage, especially on the social media, with many doubting her role at the meeting.

Makinwa said on the most recent episode of her podcast, TokeMoments, that the criticism escalated when she started receiving calls from “important people.”

When she was questioned about her experience attending the COP28 Climate Summit in Dubai and if she took part in the panel discussions by her guest, the well-known actress Ini Edo?

“Yes,” Toke Makinwa said. “I completed what I set out to do with it though I was shocked by the  uproar. And I think I woke up to see the backlash on social media because Dubai is three hours (ahead of Nigeria).

“It became more serious for me when important people began calling me. I think that was funny. I strolled into this hotel in Dubai where there were a lot of prominent people, and they started calling me ‘item seven,’ which was really funny. Everyone just laughed. It was hilarious.”
