Wizkid at 28: career, achievements and scandals
NEWS DIGEST – Ayo Balogun Ibrahim popularly known as Wizkid was born on July 16,1990 in Lagos state, Nigeria. He is an award winning song writer and singer and one of the most talented artistes in Africa.
Wizkid has bagged 27 awards out of 107 nominations. He has 1 BET award,  2 MOBO Awards, 5 Headies, 2 Channel O Music Video Awards, 6 Nigeria Entertainment Awards, 2 Ghana Music Awards, 2 Dynamix All Youth Awards,  2 City People Entertainment Awards, 1 Future Award.
Despite his enviable achievements, Wizkid has been involved in some scandals. Notably in 2017, he was involved in a feud with popular blogger, Linda Ikeji. Linda posted a story on her blog about Wizkid receiving a quit notice on his house in Lekki. The post provoked Wizkid who threatened to send his 16 year old cousin to beat up the blogger. The face-off provided entertainment for social media users who fueled the feud in every possible way. Linda went further to report a perceived threat to her life to the police, however, the matter was settled shortly after.
Wizkid has three children from three different women. The first baby mama, Sola Ogudugu gave birth to Wizkid’s first son, Boluwatife in 2011 when Wizkid was only 19. Wizkid and Sola enjoy a cordial relationship till date.
The second baby mama, Binta Diallo gave birth to a second son named Ayodeji in 2016. Things didn’t go smoothly at first between Binta and Wizkid because the latter denied paternity to the child. However, Binta insisted the child belongs to Wizkid. The ‘soco’ crooner has finally accepted paternity of the child.
The last baby mama was Wizkid’s manager, Jada Pollock who nobody knew was having an affair with Wizkid till she got pregnant and gave birth in late November 2017 to Zion Balogun.
Wizkid is reported to be one of the richest musicians in Nigeria. He owns a 13 million naira mansion in Surulere, Lagos, a 68 million naira house in Lekki and is also rumoured to have another mansion in Los Angeles. He owns a Hundai Sonata which is worth 6 million naira, a BMW X6 worth 11 million naira, Mercedes 2012 compressor worth 9 million naira, a Bentley worth 45 million naira which is said to be his most expensive car and a Porsche Panamera.
