In an interview with Rolling Stone, Ayra Starr emphasized Rihanna’s impact on her, describing her as her “matriarch” and “queen.” She highlighted Rihanna’s album “Anti” as the pinnacle of musical achievement, asserting that it holds a timeless quality that resonates deeply with her.

Ayra Starr confessed that she listens to “Anti” incessantly, finding new layers of understanding with each play. She attributed Rihanna’s influence to encouraging self-acceptance and authenticity, expressing a commitment to being true to herself in every circumstance.

“What I heard from Rihanna is being myself, understanding myself; whatever works for me is fine, some things don’t work for me, it’s fine. I’m just going to be myself in every situation.”
