Following the passing of Mohbad, the rapidly growing musician, more than 200,000 people have asked for the banning of Marlian Records, the music label run by Naira Marley.

The 27-year-old Mohbad was buried on Wednesday after passing away on Tuesday.

In order to ascertain the circumstances surrounding his passing, the Lagos police have subsequently launched an investigation.

A Change.Org petition by an anonymous blogger has been initiated on the matter.

It has racked up over 200,000 signatures as of September 16.

Mohbad, before his death, was in a faceoff with Naira Marley, the singer who signed him to the Marlian label.

At the peak of it, he had exited the label in favour of a solo run.

The Change.Org petition is now requesting that an investigation should be carried out on why Mohbad could not appear before the police after he was previously summoned over his squabbles with industry executives.

It called for a thorough investigation of the Marlian Music brand and Sam Larry Elegushi, the music promoter.

The cause of Mohbad’s death is still unknown, although allegations have made the rounds.

Joseph Aloba, his father, revealed that Mohbad died after an auxiliary nurse was invited to inject him.

Omowunmi, the partner of Mohbad, also recounted the singer’s struggles when he was alive.

The police would later announce a comprehensive investigation into Mohbad’s death on Thursday.
