The Recording Academy, the event’s organizers, shared these arrangements for the award nominees via social media videos.

Nigerian Afrobeats musicians Davido and Burna Boy are gearing up for a significant night in their respective careers, and will be seated alongside A-list celebrities.

Davido is expected to share a table with Ziggy Marley and be in close proximity to Megan Thee Stallion, while Burna Boy will be seated with 21 Savage and Brandy.

The nominations of five outstanding Nigerian artists this year have caught the attention of both industry insiders and fans.

Their participation not only emphasizes the global significance of Afrobeats but also honors the energy of Nigerian music.

The African music world is likewise buzzing over the awards’ new “Best African Music Performance” category.

The “King of Afro-fusion,” Burna Boy, had previously taken home the Grammy for Best Global Music Album in 2021.

He was nominated for four awards this year: Best African Music Performance (City Boys), Best Melodic Rap Performance (“Sittin’ on Top of the World” with 21 Savage), Best Global Music Performance (Alone), and Best Global Music Album (I Told Them).

This year, Davido hopes to win his first Grammy. His initial nominations were for Best African Music Performance (“Unavailable” starring Musa Keys), Best Global Music Performance (Feel), and Best Global Music Album (Timeless).

Being the first rapper from Nigeria to receive a Grammy nomination, Olamide has created history.

“Amapiano,” his joint collaboration with Asake, is a nominee for the 66th Grammy Awards’ first Best African Music Performance category.

Afrobeats artist Ayra Starr is one of the inaugural contenders for the newly established Best African Music Performance category with her hit song “Rush.”
