Netflix has been all about hyping Jay Z’s appearance on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman this week. The rapper talks about Eminem and Snoop Dogg’s musical abilities, his mother coming out to him and finding love, the most beautiful thing Blue Ivy has ever said to him as we’d earlier reported this week, and the administration of an orange president. Also, the rapper talks about the current situation involving his relationship with Kanye.

In the clip, Letterman asks “Kanye West, are we friends?”

Audience laugh at the cheeky question and Jay also chuckles before being honest, saying: “That’s my brother, we’re beyond friends. Really, like literally, my little brother is Kanye. And like your little brother, things happen sometimes.” Letterman, being the funny man that he is, immediately responds: “tell me what happened.”

Hov went on to ask Letterman if he has siblings and if there’s ever been a falling out. Letterman responds, “I’ll let you know when it’s over,” which Hov laughs at and then continues, “It’s like that. That’s still your sibling forever.”

“I’ve watched Kanye from without an album,” Jay adds. “The thing that I respect about him is that he’s the same person. Like, he interrupted our studio session, stood on a table and started rapping. And we were like, ‘Could you PLEASE get down,’ and he was like ‘No, I’m the saviour of Chicago!’ He didn’t have a record.”

“He knows he crossed the line,” Jay said. “He knows. And I know he knows. Because we’ve never let this much space go between one of our disagreements and we’ve had many. It’s a part of who we are… He’s an honest person and he’s wrong a lot of times.”

We’re so glad there isn’t any bad blood between them and hope they sort out their differences pretty soon because we’re looking forward to getting blown-away with Watch the Throne 2.
