See excerpts below:

News Digest: We understand that you are a lawyer. Why did you abandon law for acting?

Adaku: I did not abandon law, it is still part of who I am. However, my legal profession was chosen for me by my parents, they filled my JAMB form.

When I told my mom I wanted to act and go into media work, she cried, thinking I would end up earning meagre income despite the years I spent in school studying Law. But now, she is proud of me, calling herself “Mama Lolo”. I believe in aligning with your passion. My law background has helped me in understanding the business and legal aspect of my work. God is helping me to succeed in what I have chosen to do and I think that settles
everything.

News Digest: How did you start your acting career?

Adaku: After working as a lawyer for a while, I decided to follow my true passion. I started broadcasting on radio in 2004 at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, before moving to Metro FM. I then joined Wazobia FM in 2008, initially working as a news presenter, before presenting shows.

Along the way, I started featuring in stage plays and started my Oga Madam show on stage alongside my stand-up comedy, acting in films was just the natural next step after these and I took it and have never regretted the decision.

News Digest: Do you see yourself practicing law at some point in the future?

Adaku: I actually did practice law after my education. I went to Law school in Abuja and actually worked in a legal firm.
