The President of Baptist Secondary School, Oke-Ado, Ibadan, Old Students Associations 95set, Mr Tomiwa Oyerinde, has called on the Oyo State government to put a stop to all moves to return missionary schools in the state, to they original owners.
The issue, which made headlines last week, has made various groups come out to speak their minds, and give their opinion on the issues, whilst some groups have asked the state’s government to the return the school, the association of old students have asked otherwise.
Mr Oyerinde, the group’s President, made this appeal on Thursday, during the official commissioning of a borehole donated to the school by the set, as part of their contributions to the school’s development.

According to Oyerinde, there in so reason for the decision, seeing as its disadvantaged will be greater than the advantages. He noted that the is no reason for the present administration, led by Senator Abiola Ajimobi. to disrupt the already established peace in the state.
He said, “My alma mater comprises of Christians, Muslims and other religions faithful. So, if the Baptist should take over the school, some policies might be introduced, which some students from other religions would not be able to cope with.
“There is no how the state government can hands off from education because of the needy in the society whose children must not be denied access to basic education. While the old students will not relent in their efforts to revamp quality education in the public schools, state government should not withdraw its educational services in the state.”
