The Federal Government, along with 36 state governments and development partners, is set to sign the Health Sector Renewal pact.

This initiative aims to enhance the primary healthcare system by increasing functional centers from 8,000 to 17,000 within four years under the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative. Prof. Mohammed Ali Pate, Coordinating Minister of Health, emphasized the commitment to Universal Health Coverage, ensuring equitable and optimal health services.

The pact, to be signed with state governments, aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s agenda for better health nationwide. Dr. Muyi Aina, Executive Director of NPHCDA, highlighted the significance of strengthening primary health care for a sustainable healthcare system.
