Slovenian photographer Andreja Ravnak has secured the coveted top spot, mesmerizing judges with her breathtaking European landscapes at the 2023 Travel Photographer of the Year awards.

The competition, featuring a staggering 20,000 entries from 150 countries, showcased the rich diversity of our planet’s beauty. Ravnak, who is not only a talented photographer but also an architect, expressed gratitude for the honor and underscored the importance of documenting the world for future generations.

“I’ve seen many excellent and creative photos in this year’s TPOTY final, and it’s such a great honor to find my work recognized,” Ravnak said. “Congratulations to all the winners; together, we are enthusiastically documenting this wonderful world, and perhaps this is a small contribution, a reminder to preserve its wonder for future generations.”

Notable winners included Athanasios Maloukos, capturing Siberian shamans in the “People and Cultures” category, and the impressive 14-year-old Caden Shepard Choi, who clinched the Young Travel Photographer of the Year award for her poignant black-and-white series on the Navajo people in Arizona.

From mist-covered Tuscan hills to a fish peering from a glass bottle, the winning images invite viewers to explore the delicate balance between humanity and the environment.

These awe-inspiring photographs will be available online and showcased at exhibitions in Birmingham, UK, and Sharjah, UAE, allowing audiences to immerse themselves in the visual narratives of our planet’s wonders.
