Seychelles coach confident of victory against Super Eagles
NEWS DIGEST – Seychelles head coach, Galin Jeanne has expressed confidence in his team’s chances of upsetting the Super Eagles of Nigeria when both teams collide at the Stade Linite in for Saturday’s crucial 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
Seychelles languish in botton place in group E after they were walloped by Libya in June 2018. Nigeria on the otherhand, were defeated 2-0 by South Africa in the corresponding fixture. This therefore sets a toxic atmosphere for the tie, with both teams desperately in need of points.
Despite the Super Eagles parading some of the best players on the continent, Seychelles coach, Jeanne insists that the Pirates are fully ready for the match which he described as the biggest in the history of the country’s national football team.
“Yes, we are very ready and positive about our chances against Nigeria,” Jeanne told reporters in Victoria.
“We have prepared well and I hope the players maintain their focus and stick to the plan. We have enjoyed a good build-up to the game. It’s our biggest football match in history.
“We have tested ourselves enough from our participation it the Cosafa Cup till now. I hope it goes well and we make a positive impact.”
The game is poised to kick-off by 1:30pm Nigerian time.
