The Force Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, is calling on Nigerians to report anyone in possession of ammunition, particularly among friends or civilians.

Adejobi conveyed this message via his X handle, accompanying it with a photo of the bullets on Sunday, January 21.

In his post, he emphasized the danger of these live ammunitions, known as “èpà” or “groundnuts” on the streets. Stressing that they are lethal and should only be associated with statutory security agents, Adejobi urged the public to expose anyone seen with such items among friends or civilians.

The Police spokesperson highlighted the importance of collective efforts to curb the proliferation of arms and ammunition in Nigeria.

He wrote: “These are live ammunition, called “èpà” or “groundnuts” in the street. They are deadly, not to be seen with anyone except security agents. Statutory security agents, no other ones. If you see them with any friend or civilian, please expose him or her. We need to collectively curb the proliferation of arms and ammunition in Nigeria.
