She stated, “Intelligence and raids on black spots led to the arrest of suspected criminals in their hideouts such as brothels, motor parks and hard drugs joints in all divisions across the state.

“So far, 142 male and nine female suspects have been arrested. Investigation is ongoing and the suspects will be charged accordingly upon the completion of our investigation

“The command also arrested two suspects, who claimed to be police officers, with two AK-47 rifles during a stop-and-search operation.

“We are investigating the matter to confirm if they are policemen. For now, we can’t call them fake officers until we conclude our investigation. We have written to the mobile unit they claimed and are waiting for a reply.”

Onovwakpoyeya stated that items recovered from the suspects were two suspected stolen motorcycles, 250kg bag of substances suspected to be Indian hemp and three live cartridges.

She added that the raid on criminal hideouts across the state would be sustained to ensure that the state remained uncomfortable for criminals.
