The Kaduna State Police Command reported on Saturday that its agents had found five vehicles and detained six suspects in connection with a number of crimes.

In a statement released in Kaduna, the command’s spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the arrest.

“At about 0310 hours on Thursday, while conducting a routine patrol near the Agoro Level Crossing area, a team from the Tudun Wada Division in Zaria, intercepted a suspect identified as Babangida Sani, 37, from Faskari Local Government Area in Katsina State,” the statement read.

According to the PPRO, the suspect boarded a commercial motorcycle at the Flyover Garage while en route from Jos to Faskari.

“During the search, the officers discovered an AK-47 rifle in the suspect’s possession.

“The motorcycle’s driver, upon witnessing the search, fled the scene but was promptly arrested and taken into custody by the officers,” he said.

Hassan also revealed that the command’s Criminal Investigation Department’s Anti-Car Theft Unit responded quickly to a tip on Tuesday at 1800 hours and found two abandoned cars.

These are a Toyota Camry LE (Reg No.: KGK 114 AA) and a Toyota Matrix (Reg No.: DKA 321 TT), both located in Mogadishu, Kaduna.

He continued by saying that a white Toyota Hilux van (registration number GWA 845 CY), which had been reported stolen from Karji Junction, had also been found at the Yazid Hotel on Ali Akilu Road in Kaduna on Wednesday at around 12:15.

“Further investigations resulted in the arrest of three suspects: Usman Zubairu Ganu, Salihu Musa, and Sa’ad Abdullahi, all from Zamfara State,” Hassan stated.

“They were found in possession of two additional vehicles, a Honda Accord (Reg No: RBC 143 MQ) and a Mercedes Benz (Reg No: BKD 137 SB), also suspected to be stolen.”

A man was arrested by Ogun police for attacking landowners.
According to the spokesperson, the DPO Millennium City Division received a report from the Sabon Gida vigilante group in Maraban Rido village, Sabo Area of Responsibility, on Wednesday at approximately 2105 hours.

As a result, they detained three armed men who were riding a motorcycle through a known bandit route in the direction of the Eastern Bypass.

It was suspected, he said, that the suspects were carrying concealed rifles.

“Acting swiftly on this information, the DPO mobilised a combined team of police patrol officers, a military strike force, and local vigilantes.

“An ambush was set at strategic locations, leading to the interception of the suspects near Kakura 2 Village along Umar Musa Yar’Adua Way.

”Two of the suspects managed to escape, but the motorcycle rider, identified as Buhari Madaki, 26, was captured along with his red Jincheng motorcycle.

“Upon questioning, Madaki was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for taking the dangerous route late at night,” Hassan said.

He said that a covert inquiry into the incidents was still going on.

According to Hassan, Mr. Ali Dabigi, the commissioner of Kaduna police, has reassured the people that the command is still dedicated to upholding safety and security in the state.

He was also grateful for the public’s assistance in these endeavors.
