Ogun APC Chairmanship Aspirant urges FG to fix Lagos/Abeokuta expressway

NEWS DIGEST – A leading chairmanship aspirant under the umbrella of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ewekoro local government of Ogun State, Chief Zaid Olanrewaju has charged both federal and Ogun state government on the urgent repair of Papalanto-Ewekoro-Itrori along Lagos/Abeokuta expressway.

Chief Olanrewaju said the socio-economic development of the State depends majorly on the roads, urging the federal government to concession the roads to the Ogun State government to fast track repair and maintenance of the roads.

The APC member noted that, the federal government can only achieve its next level agenda by aggressive infrastructural development most especially road construction, repairs and maintenance.

He said, “realising that President Muhammadu Buhari is committed to Next Level Agenda, it’s apparently clear that Nigeria can only attain the next level of prosperity by aggressive infrastructural developments most especially Road Construction, Repairs and Maintenance.

“To Fast track the repairs and maintenance of the aforementioned roads, the concession of Federal Roads in Ogun State to the State Government may probably be a better option.

“In the same vein, I am appealing to our amiable Governor to use his good office to ensure that the Federal Government hands over the Repairs and maintenance of these roads to Ogun State Government.

“It’s obvious that the social economic development of our people in both Lagos and Ogun State depends majorly on these roads.

“Recognising the fact that the general good and welfare of our people is the major preoccupation of President Muhammed Buhari and Prince Dapo Abiodun’s Government, I am convinced beyond reasonable doubt that President Buhari and Prince Dapo Abiodun will find a lasting solution to the perennial problems of bad roads in Ewekoro Local Government in particular and Ogun State in general.”
