Following Jose Peseiro’s contract expiration at the end of February, the Nigeria Football Federation has declared the position of head coach of the Super Eagles vacant.

The Glass House is looking for a replacement for the Portuguese player who guided the Eagles to second place in the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

NFF President Ibrahim Gusau refuted reports that Austin Eguavoen, a former gaffer, had been named interim manager.

The role of Head Coach for the Golden Eaglets has also been declared vacant.

The NFF stated that the potential Super Eagles coach “must have proven experience at the elite level of football” in an advertisement on its website inviting applications.

It further stated that applications must be submitted by 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, to jobs@thenff.com or through the website https:///thenff.com/jobs/head-coach-of-the-senior-mens-national-team-super-eagle/.

The federation now has to select a new coach for the Eagles before their upcoming World Cup qualifiers in June, even though no game has been scheduled for the team ahead of the international free window that opens on March 18.
