Prof. Femi Shaka has been named Chairman of the eight-member panel that will judge all submissions for the Competition Category of the Zuma Film Festival by the Nigerian Film Corporation.

This information may be found in a statement that Mr. Brian Etuk, the NFC’s Director of Public Affairs, released on Thursday in Abuja.

Etuk stated that Shaka and the other jury members were expected to use their extensive experience to determine the winners.

“The jury includes Nigerian and international film industry professionals who have made significant contributions to the expansion of the film industry.

“Shaka is one of the most revered arts, theatre, and film development scholars and specialists.

“He has contributed immensely to the growth of Nigeria’s vibrant movie industry also known as Nollywood.

“He is a well-known strong advocate for cinema as a tool for national development, through regular campaigns for the establishment of a department of film and television studies,” he said.

He claimed that ZUFF, one of the world’s fastest-growing international film festivals, was represented by the jury’s makeup, which underlined the importance of the festival.

The “Cultural Convergence” topic will be the focus of the 13th ZUFF, which will take place in Abuja from December 1 to December 10.

Filmmakers began submitting their entries on June 15; they must do so by midnight on November 15.

Entries may be sent to the NFC Headquarters in Jos or to the Zuma Film Festival Secretariat at https://filmfreeway.com/zumafilmfestival.
