Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has urged Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, to assist President Bola Tinubu in addressing the development issues facing the nation.

Sule made this request during a courtesy visit by Obi to the Government House in Lafia on Monday.

Emphasising the importance of distinguishing between political activities and governance, Governor Sule sought the support of the former Anambra State Governor in this endeavour.

He urged the former presidential candidate to tap into his wealth of experience and expertise to support the Tinubu administration in the task of building a secure and prosperous country.

The governor also thanked Mr Obi for his efforts at cushioning the effects of the economic hardship

“I want to also call on you, sir, to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The country’s challenges cannot be resolved by one person only. We all have roles to play,” Mr Sule said.

In his response, Mr Obi commended his host for the construction of new roads in the state.

“When I was coming today, I saw some new roads and construction, so congratulations. Politics is not always about thinking negatively, but we should acknowledge positive things,” he said.

Obi said he was in the state to offer his contributions and support to the people, especially during the fasting period

He also promised to drill boreholes in some parts of Nasarawa state.
