Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has expressed he had discussions with President Bola Tinubu regarding the security challenges plaguing the state.

Amid escalating incidents of banditry, the governor disclosed that he maintains regular contact with President Tinubu, engaging in discussions twice a day.

He said this on Monday while speaking on Channels TV Politics Today.

The urgency of these conversations underscores the gravity of recent security breaches in Kaduna State.

On March 8th, brazen bandits stormed the LEA Primary and Junior Secondary School in Kuriga, Chikun Local Government Area, seizing 312 students and Principal Abubakar Isah in broad daylight.

Similarly, on Sunday night, bandits struck again, abducting 86 individuals from Tantatu and Aguba communities within the Kufana District of Kajuru Local Government Area.

Despite these harrowing incidents, Governor Uba Sani expressed optimism in the collective efforts to tackle insecurity in Nigeria.

During the interview, he highlighted the unwavering commitment of President Tinubu and the nation’s service chiefs to address the pervasive threat.

He reiterated President Tinubu’s deep concern, revealing the President’s proactive approach through frequent communication, sometimes up to four times a day, to inquire about the state’s security situation.

Furthermore, Sani outlined his administration’s proactive measures to alleviate the plight of Kaduna residents. Through targeted interventions, including empowering local businesses and households, the government aims to mitigate the socio-economic impact of insecurity on the populace.

“We had a meeting with the NSA and the service chiefs and every one of them is concerned. Mr President is worried, too. He calls me twice daily, sometimes four times a day, to ask me about the situation in my state.

“I do not doubt in my mind that Mr president under his able leadership will address this problem. It is a matter of time.”
