NEWS DIGEST– The Kano State Agro-pastoral Development Project (KSADP) recently announced the approval of approximately N600 million for enhancing the facilities at the Dawanau International Grains Market. As per the statement issued by Mr. Ameen Yassar, the Project Communication Specialist overseeing the initiative in Kano, the funding for this project comes from the Islamic Development Bank and the Lives and Livelihood funds.

The allocated funds will support several key infrastructural improvements, including the construction of a four-kilometer road, the installation of drainage systems, and the installation of street lights. Labor Technical Services Ltd. has been chosen to undertake the construction work for the road, drainage, and street lights, with a contract value of N508 million.

Additionally, AITEC Infraconsult Ltd. has been awarded a contract worth N92 million for the construction of three blocks comprising lavatories, a mosque, a police outpost, offices, and a conference room.

Yassar further mentioned that the entire project is anticipated to be completed within a timeframe of 12 months. This endeavor is poised to enhance the overall facilities at Dawanau International Grains Market, benefiting both traders and visitors alike.
