NEWS DIGEST- President Bola Tinubu has stated that poverty eradication and investment promotion for wealth creation depend on justice reform.

He made the statement while declaring open the 63rd Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Abuja on Sunday. Tinubu emphasized that world-class remuneration for legal professionals would also sanitize the judiciary for a prosperous Nigeria.

Added that a new Nigeria was possible with his ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda, but it would require taking bold decisions that might be painful at first but beneficial in the end.

Tinubu expressed that the bold steps his administration was taking to find lasting solutions to the challenges confronting the country would succeed only with the cooperation and collaboration of all, especially the private sector. He urged private organizations to participate in his administration’s efforts to reduce poverty.

Furthermore, President Tinubu stressed that the country could not continue to service external debt with about 90 percent of its revenue. He commended the NBA for the theme of the conference, stating that it was timely, and implored the association to give his administration maximum support to succeed.

Billionaire businessman Tony Elumelu also spoke at the event, where he emphasized that the eradication of poverty in the country is the ultimate solution to insecurity and extremism. Elumelu urged everyone to play a role in supporting young people and giving them hope for a better tomorrow.

He emphasized that hope fuels the dreams of the youth, ignites the entrepreneurial spirit, and unites people in their pursuit of a better future.
