The Jigawa State Police Command says it foiled an armed robbery attempt by unidentified persons in the state’s Kazaure Local Government Area.

The incident occurred on Friday, September 29, 2023, according to a statement issued by the command’s Assistant Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Isah, on Sunday.

“On the 29th of September, 2023, at approximately 0330 hrs, a distress call was received at Kazaure Police Station indicating that some hoodlums suspected of being armed robbers were seen jumping over barbed wire into the house of one Bello Aliyu of Yanmakada quarters, Kazaure LGA.”

“Upon receiving the report, a patrol team from the Kazaure Division rushed to the scene; upon seeing the cops, the hoodlums took to their heels where the said Bello was.”

He added “At about 0230hrs four unknown persons flinched into his compound, forcefully collected his car key “A Mercedes Benz with registration number BWA 447 DA” and loaded some household properties inside the said vehicle.

While fleeing, the suspects left behind a car, a Samsung phone, a television, two speakers, a DSTV receiver, a laptop, a Peugeot car key, two women’s shoes, two caps, and some garments, according to Isah.

However, the complainant regretted the loss of his vehicle’s Benz ignition key, one Tecno phone, and one Nokia phone.

ASP Isah stated that efforts are being made to apprehend the fleeing culprits.

Meanwhile, the command detained one Tanimu Adamu, 28, of Dangoro village in Kano state’s Kumbotso LGA for suspected conspiracy and armed robbery.
