A total of 3,110 Kano State pilgrims have arrived in Makkah, Saudi Arabia for the 2024 Hajj.

Representatives from the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board and the Nigeria National Hajj Commission welcomed the pilgrims.

This was revealed in a statement released on Saturday by Ibrahim Shuaibu, the deputy governor’s spokesperson and head of the media team for pilgrims traveling through Kano State.

Ibrahim said that both privately and government-sponsored pilgrims are present.

He said, “The officials of the board in Makkah, urged the pilgrims to conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner throughout their stay in the holy city.

“The pilgrims will spend several days in Makkah performing various rituals, including circumambulating the Kaaba, praying at the Grand Mosque, and sacrificing animals.”

One of the five pillars of Islam, the Hajj is regarded as a once-in-a-lifetime duty for Muslims who are financially and physically capable of performing it.
