Gunmen have abducted passengers traveling to Abuja from Enugu State after attacking an 18-seater bus in Nasarawa State.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, disclosed this to Channels Television.

According to Nansel, the police received information on Friday night that an 18-seater bus traveling from Enugu to Abuja was attacked at Doruwa village on the Nasarawa-Keffi road, and an unspecified number of passengers were abducted.

Nansel reported that three of the victims were later rescued following a swift response from the police and other security agencies, who launched an operation in the area.

“Police operatives, in collaboration with other security agencies, responded swiftly, but the act was committed before the information came.

The hoodlums were trailed, and the area combed. Consequently, three people were rescued, and the vehicle recovered to the police station,” he said.

Nansel assured that security agencies are making unrelenting efforts, stating that search and rescue operations are ongoing to arrest the criminals and rescue the remaining victims.
