Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, has urged Idris Ojoko, the newly elected Chairman, Forum of 36 States and FCT Chairmen, National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, to uphold the mandate and trust given to him by the people.

The National President of NYCN, Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, in a statement on Saturday, said the governor gave the advice when National Executive Members of NYCN presented Ojoko to the governor at Government House, Lafia, the state capital.

Mr Sukubo explained that the executive members of NYCN visited the governor to officially present to him the newly elected Chairman of the 36 States and FCT Chairmen’s Forum of the Council, Mr Ojoko who is from Nasarawa.

The youth leader also said that the governor enjoined Ojoko to be good ambassador of Nasarawa by ensuring accountability and transparency in running the affairs of the forum.

The NYCN President used the occasion to request the governor to approve for the hosting of a National Peace and Security Summit in the state to ameliorate the security situation in the country.

According to him, the governor while responding approved the request for the hosting of the peace and security summit in the state.

Mr Sukubo revealed that the governor instantly donated an official vehicle to the chairman of the forum of NYCN state chairmen with a view to facilitating his movement around the country.

It will be recalled that the Forum of the 36 states and FCT’ chairmen of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, in March this year elected Ojoko and other officials to steer the affairs of the forum in the next couple of years.

The election which took place in Kula in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers was attended by the representative of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, security agents, and observers.
