Ganduje to sue Wike for alleged demolition of mosque in Rivers

NEWS DIGEST – The governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, has described the story of mosque demolition in Rivers State as shocking, promising to drag the governor of the state, Nyesom Wike, to court.

“We received this information with high degree of shock. And I am assuring the general public that, all necessary action against this demolition will be taken through appropriate authorities,” Mr Ganduje said in a statement by his spokesman, Abba Anwar.

The action, according to the governor include “Legal action against this demolition of the Mosque”.

“This will not go without taking it to the appropriate authorities for redress.”

Mr Ganduje called on the public to remain calm and peaceful and go about their normal businesses, as government had started efforts against the demolition.

“Kano state is known for peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Christians, we should therefore improve on that and remain calm and peaceful. People should please live peacefully with one another,” Mr Ganduje added.
