The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced plans to disconnect 25 customers, including prominent government entities, who have unpaid electricity bills. The notice, released on Saturday, states that clients who do not settle their debts by June 3, 2024, will face disconnection.

Among the listed customers are the Nigeria Army, Nigeria Airforce, Kogi State Government, and Niger State Government.

The notice from AEDC reads: “This is to inform the general public that AEDC will disconnect all customers with outstanding electricity bills on June 3, 2024.” Emphasizing the importance of timely payments, the company added, “Timely payment of electricity bills is crucial for the continued operation and enhancement of AEDC’s infrastructure, ensuring we can deliver efficient and reliable service to our community.”
