The North-East zonal chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed a former governor of Bauchi State, Isah Yuguda to lead its committee tasked to review the outcome of the 2023 elections in the state.

LEADERSHIP Friday reports that Bala Mohammed of PDP was declared winner of the governorship election in Bauchi, defeating APC’s Sadique Baba Abubakar.

The APC filed a complaint challenging the victory of PDP at the Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Bauchi.

APC National Vice Chairman, Northeast, Salihu Mustapha disclosed this while addressing reporters at the Zonal Secretariat of the APC in Bauchi.

“We came to have a meeting with the EXCO of the party in Bauchi State comprising members of SEC and LGAs EXCO to assure them of the support of the National body on all issues and cases they have in Bauchi State.

“Also to form a committee that will review the outcome of the 2023 general elections which is chaired by a former Governor of Bauchi State, Malam Isa Yuguda who is to submit a report in the next two weeks.

“We are also here to have the Zonal meeting to review some pending issues related to the 2023 General elections in the zone. We have received a lot of letters, some official, some unofficial of suspension, expulsion and some other measures of ostracisation of our members in various states of the zone.

“We want to look critically at all these issues, to know where the constitution was not followed and I want to assure you that all these people that have been allegedly suspended or expelled still remain valid and authentic members of the APC until and unless you duly followed the Constitution, you cannot suspend or expel any member, he said.

The national vice chairman warned all stakeholders of the APC in Bauchi to avoid using tools for unworthy causes, warning that anyone found to be wanting will be dealt with decisively.
