EFCC Boss, Magu ignores question on Ganduje bribery scandal

NEWS DIGEST – The chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, has refused to answer whether the commission is investigating video clips showing the governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, allegedly receiving bribe.

There is pressure from public and civil society, calling for probe of the governor by the anti-graft agency, following the release of the bribe videos.

Both EFCC and ICPC are yet to comment on the matter.

Responding to a journalist’s question at the commission’s headquarters on Monday, Mr Magu said first remain silent, laughed and then said “next question.”

Mr Ganduje has appeared in a series of video clips receiving bribe, amounting to about $5million from contractors in the state.
