Super Eagles Will Bounce Back In Russia -NFF

NEWS DIGEST -Following the latest defeat suffered by Nigeria at the hands of Czech Republic on wednesday, General secretary of the Nigerian Football Federation(NFF), Dr Sanusi Mohammed has assured Nigerians that there is no cause for alarm, inisiting that the team will respond positively when the tournament kicks off in Russia .

Mr Sanusi said this while speaking with Complete Sports,he reteirated the fact that the matches were mainly for warm-up purposes and should not raise any problem

“We are not worried by these defeats suffered in friendly games. These are friendly games and they are meant to try new tactics and blend the team.”

He also opined that the Super Eagles players were avoiding injuries so the poor run of results

” The results don’t really matter because I know our boys were not at their best. There is no cause for alarm, the Super Eagles will bounce back. You know the boys are not giving their best because they don’t want to sustain injury before the start of the World Cup. They are playing safe and I am sure they will go full blast when they face Croatia next week. The NFF have done their part in preparing the team for the World Cup, it is now left for the them to reciprocate the gesture by getting results in Russia. Nigerians should believe that the team will deliver in Russia.”

It would be recalled that Nigeria Super Eagles lost their last two Friendly matches, against England and Czech Republic .

The Super Eagles kickstart their World Cup campaign with a tie against Croatia on June 16, before locking horns with Iceland and Argentina in the remaining fixtures of the group stage.
