A former Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi (retd.), is dead.
It was reported in the early hours of Sunday that he had passed away following a brief illness.
From 1999 to 2003, Ogohi served as Chief of Staff of the Defense Staff.
The Director of Information, Nigerian Navy, Commodore Adams-Aliu confirmed the news to The Punch.

He said, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun. With deep sorrow, I announce the death of Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi (retd.), a former Chief of Defence Staff (1999-2003).
“He passed on in Abuja in the early hours of today. More details will be communicated later.”
