Chinese Water Firm Targets 2.5 Million Abuja Residents With Daily Supplies

The Water Supply Division of the China Geo-Engineer­ing Corporation Nigeria Lim­ited, says 2.5 million Abuja residents will benefit from its ongoing water supply project in the Federal Capital Terri­tory.

The firm flagged off the ‘Greater Abuja Water Sup­ply Project’ in May 2021 and it is being managed by the Federal Capital Development Authority.

The Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, in a statement re­cently said, “Upon comple­tion, it will alleviate water scarcity in 50 districts, ben­efiting an estimated 2.5 mil­lion residents.

“This project is more than just a water supply initiative, it is a comprehensive plan to enhance the quality of life in the Federal Capital Territo­ry by providing safe, reliable, and ample water to its inhab­itants.

“The project’s social ben­efits are targeted at improv­ing the standard of living, creating job opportunities, boosting international com­petitiveness, and promoting sustainable development.” The statement reads.
