The Peoples Democratic Party’s appeal against Governor Alex Otti and the Labour Party was rejected by the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, which met in Umuahia, Abia State, on Friday.

The tribunal presided over by Hon. Justice H. T. D. Gwadah ruled that the petitioners, the PDP and others, “failed in their three grounds and their petitions dismissed for lack of merit.”

The three grounds include Otti’s ineligibility to run for governor, his non-LP membership, his failure to provide a valid National Youth Service Corps certificate, and his inability to demonstrate corrupt activity.

The tribunal is currently looking into the petition filed by the APC against the LP.
