Following the passing of his old employer, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the governor of Ondo State, has announced five new political appointments.

Aiyedatiwa named Sunday Abire as his Special Assistant on New Media and seasoned journalist Mr. Ebenezer Adeniyan as his Chief Press Secretary in a statement released on Wednesday.

The governor also named Smart Omodunbi as Special Assistant to the Governor (Political Matters), Motunrayo Oyedele as Special Assistant to the Governor (Photography), and Temitayo Iperepolu as Special Assistant to the Governor (Domestic and Government House) in a statement signed by Olusegun Omojuwa, the State Deputy Chief of Staff.

Following the death of Akeredolu, who passed away from prostate cancer in a German hospital in the wee hours of Wednesday, Aiyedatiwa was sworn in as the seventh governor of the state by Olusegun Odunsola, the state’s chief judge.

Adeniyan, a numerous award-winning journalist, media consultant, author, unionist, publisher, and editor-in-chief of TRACE News Magazine, was named the new Chief Press Secretary.

Prior to his recent appointment, he served as Prince Ademola Adegoroye’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, the Minister of State for Transportation.
