NEWS DIGEST – They are ‘PARADOXES’. The two held Nigeria’s most powerful and juicy political appointments. One was Minister of Petroleum Resources, while the other was Minister of Finance. Enter Nigeria’s most controversially celebrated cabinet women ministers in history; Diezani Alison-Madueke, ex-Minister of Petroleum Resources, under Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Peoples Democratic Party [PDP]’s administration and Kemi Adeosun, current Minister of Finance, under Muhammadu Buhari All Progressive Congress [APC]’s administration.
Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, ex-Minister of Petroleum Resources and ex-Minister of Transportation. The first female president of Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries [OPEC]. Diezani Alison-Madueke was elected Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries [OPEC] president at 166th OPEC Ordinary Meeting in Vienna on November 27, 2014. Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke looted an estimated $90 billion from the coffers of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation [NNPC], a record in Nigeria looting history!
Psychoanalysts said, “Diezani Alison-Madueke was a looting cancer patient, a “kleptomaniac”, she was noted for frivolities, hiring of private jets for tours, with unfettered access to Nigeria’s uncoordinated and loose oil records accounting system, Mrs Diezani Alison Madueke was feeding fat on Nigeria’s black gold ‘oil money’. She turned her residence and apartments to Private Bank. Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke remain untouchable in her money squandering madness!
Throughout Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] inglorious administration, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke used Nigeria resources for subversion. She doled out $1.3 billion to Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigeria [INEC] top officials to subvert and pervert electoral malpractices across Nigeria during the 2015 presidential election that saw the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Top INEC officials were offered huge sums of money to influence the outcome of 2015 presidential elections in favour of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke was the arrow head in the disbursement of fund to the discredited Cambridge Analytica. Cambridge Analytica was engaged by Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] to bridged 2015 Nigeria presidential election with subversive advertisement and data hacking to discreet Muhammadu Buhari’s All Progressive Party [APC].
Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke became possessed and obsessed with looting and kleptarchy, equal the disgraced Philippine’s first lady, Imelda Marcos. There were public outcry against Mrs Diezani Alison-Maduke by Nigerians, Civil Society Organizations [CSO’s], Pressure and Interests Groups, yet, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan turned deaf and blind eyes to all the calls.
The House of Representatives then had to raised alarm as regards Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke spending recklessness and called for Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to sack or remove her as Minister of Petroleum Resources. All these fell into deaf ears of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as Diezani Alison-Madueke remains ‘UNTOUCHABLE’ and remain in the government.
Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke fled to Britain [she was arrested in London in October 2015 as part of a British investigation into international corruption and remains on bail] after the defeat of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] by Muhammadu Buhari All Progressive Party [APC] in 2015 and had since remained in self and forced exile in Britain avoiding prosecution in Nigeria haven being indicted on various allegations. Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke remains Nigeria cabinet minister to have brazenly looted Nigeria’s resources beyond comprehension and limits. A disgrace to womanhood!
Kemi Adeosun commenced her career as an accounting assistant at British Telecom, London, from 1989 till 1990, after which she moved to Goodman Jones, London, working as a Senior audit officer from 1990 till 1993.She became Manager of Internal Audit at London Underground, London and Prism Consulting from 1994 till 2000 beforejoining PricewaterhouseC oopers, London as Senior Manager from 2000 till 2002.
In 2002, Kemi became financial controller at Chapel Hill Denham Management and subsequently, Managing Director in 2010. After working with Quo Vadis Partnership as Managing Director from 2010 to 2011, she was appointed Ogun State’s Commissioner of Finance 2011. She maintained this role from 2011 to 2015.
Mrs Kemi Adeosun came into public by connection and had a meteoric rise, haven served Ogun State government in various capacities. Kemi Adeosun shortlisting as Nigeria Minister of Finance was a bolt out of thunderstorm! Her nomination, confirmation and appointment was shrouded in secrecy and controversy, yet, Kemi Adeosun scaled through the senate screening. The National Assembly members that screened Kemi Adeosun knew her albatross and they consciously confirmed her nomination due to pressure and lobby by her political godfather with an ‘oath of secrecy’; “rub-my-palm; I rub-your-back”. Kemi Adeosun never failed the NASS members, as she play ball to all NASS flimsy requests. In a bizarre funds releases, Kemi Nelson Adeosun was releasing money [to NASS members without proper accounting procedures] for NASS members flimsy projects and appropriation.
This is a country where NASS members knew that Kemi Adeosun has a clog, yet, the NASS confirmed and approved her nomination as a potential minister. It took Premium Times Newspaper six months of underground investigations to uncover Kemi Adeosun possessed a forged National Youth Service Corp [NYSC] discharged certificate. Premium Times detailed Kemi Adeosun putrid trails. About a month after Premium Times uncover Kemi Adeosun putrid National Youth Service Corp [NYSC] ‘CertificateGate’ mum has been the word from the Nigeria presidency.
Her principal employer, President Muhammadu Buhari has neither responded, take action nor commented on the Kemi Nelson Adeosun NYSC ‘CertificateGate’. She was appointed chairman of the board African Export-Import Bank [AfrExIm] recently.
Like Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, Kemi Adeosun still presides over Nigeria’s treasury and she is still silently disbursing, releasing and appropriating Nigeria’s resources to who that cares. The $322 million Abacha loot that was returned by the Swiss government and said to have been disbursed by Kemi Adeosun for some projects is yet to be properly accounted for.
