As Kogi State governorship contest is heading to the tribunal, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council has urged the public to remain vigilant, holding the Social Democratic Party (SDP) responsible for any untoward incidents at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Lokoja.

The APC response follows an alarm by the SDP campaign spokesperson, Isaiah Ijele, who accused the APC of attempting to burn down the INEC office to conceal evidence ahead of the tribunal’s material inspection.

The APC dismissed the SDP’s claims, asserting that the false alarm was a ploy to cover up SDP’s own intentions to harm the electoral umpire’s office and falsely implicate the APC.

Kingsley Fanwo, Director of Media and Publicity/Spokesperson for the Council, emphasized the need for security agencies to fortify INEC offices across the state, highlighting the SDP’s alleged attempt to divert attention from their election-related shortcomings.

In response to SDP’s statement claiming plans to burn down the INEC office in Kogi, the APC challenged the credibility of such assertions, accusing SDP of engaging in baseless propaganda to deflect from their electoral performance.
