Osun 2018: Davido’s Uncle, Senator Adeleke emerges as PDP flag bearer

NEWS DIGEST – Davido’s uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, who is currently representing Osun West in the Nigerian Senate, has emerged the winner of the Osun state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election.

Senator Adeleke got 1, 569 votes and his closest contender, Akin Ogunbiyi, 1, 562 votes after a recount was done.

The Osun PDP primaries which held today, Saturday, July 21, 2018, was supervised by the Bayelsa state Governor, Seriake Dickson.

Dickson said “We are here for the party, and not for any of the aspirants.

“We recounted at the request of some agents. This is a contest amongst brothers. No aspirant is being shortchanged. This exercise marks the beginning of a very long journey.”

According to the Bayelsa Governor, the total number of delegates was 3, 448, out of that number, 3, 246 accredited voters cast their votes and 56 votes were void.
