37 more fraudulent loan applications were delisted by the federal government on Monday through the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
The number of fully accepted loan applications increased as a result of the change, rising to 164 from 154 as of its most recent updates.
From 40 to 38 loan applications received conditional clearance, while the number of applications on the commission’s watchlist increased from 20 to 56.
The FCCPC has permanently delisted and started the process of removing at least two lending apps from the Google Play Store due to their harassment of Nigerians on August 20, 2023.
On August 1, 2023, FCCPC requested Google remove illegal apps operating without regulatory approval or in violation of the Limited Interim Regulatory/Registration Framework and Guidelines for Digital Lending, 2022 (Guidelines), from its play store, The PUNCH reports.
