Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum is grieving the passing of his Special Assistant on Media and Strategy, Isa Gusau, as announced by the state government on Friday.
Gusau succumbed to a heart problem in a foreign hospital in the early hours of Thursday. Initially appointed by Governor Zulum in 2019, Gusau had also served in a similar role during Governor Kashim Shettima’s eight-year tenure.

“We regret to announce that Mallam Isa Gusau died in the early hours of Thursday in a hospital outside the country after battling a heart problem,” the government said.
“Gusau was one of the aides first appointed by Governor Zulum after being sworn in on 29 May 2019.
“He had served in the same capacity when Governor Kashim @officialSKSM was the Governor of Borno for eight years. May his soul rest in peace. Ameen.”
