Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike has inaugurated a task force to address the fraudulent issuance of Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) in mass housing estates, aiming to rectify the commercialization of residential areas.
Wike emphasized the need for recertification and penalties for Land Use Act violators, attributing part of the issue to government agencies overseeing land administration.

Chaired by his Senior Special Assistant on Lands, Urban and Regional Planning, Michael Chinda, Executive Secretary, Federal Capital Development Authority, Shehu Ahmad, is secretary of the task force.
Other members include the Director, of the Department of Development Control; the Director, of the Department of Land Administration, and the Director, of the Department of Surveying and Mapping.
Others are the Director, of the Department of Mass Housing, the Director of AGIS, and the Director, of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning. Also included are two estate surveyors, Dr. Emmanuel Mark, and Mr. Emma Okas.
