NEWS DIGEST– In a move to ensure compliance with the terms of agreement and promote development in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the Minister of the FCT, mr Nyesom Wike, has approved the revocation of 165 plots of land in the serviced districts of the Federal Capital City.

The decision was made after the Land Department compiled a notice for the revocation, citing continuous contravention of the terms of agreement as outlined in the 1978 Land Use Act. The individuals and corporate organizations who owned these plots have repeatedly failed to adhere to the terms specified in Section 28(5)(a) & (b) of the Land Use Act.

The affected plots are located in various districts within the FCC, including Central Business District, Maitama, Wuse II, Gudu, Wuye, Jabi, Utako, Katampe Extension, Idu Industrial Area, and Asokoro.

The revocation of these plots is a direct result of the violation of the terms of their Rights of Occupancy. The Minister, in exercising the powers conferred on him by Section 28(5)(a) & (b) of the Land Use Act 1978, approved the revocation based on the continual non-development of the plots.
