Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has announced that President Bola Tinubu has approved the construction of 40 houses for the Justices of the Court of Appeal, the Federal High Court, and the FCT High Courts.

Wike made this announcement during the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Abuja division of the Court of Appeal complex in Dakibiyu, Jabi District, Abuja, on Wednesday.

He mentioned that the President has also approved retirement homes for the heads of courts, including the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, the Chief Judge of the FCT, the President of the National Industrial Court, and the President of the Court of Appeal.

Wike assured, “I want to assure you, by the grace of God, the foundation of these homes will be laid this August and before September next year, you will all have your keys to your houses.”

Earlier, the Minister had inaugurated the first Taxi and Bus terminal in Kugbo, Karu District of Abuja.

He noted that the new terminal aims to alleviate the discomfort experienced by commuters, especially during the rainy season, and reduce the loss of man-hours due to the lack of public transportation infrastructure.

The terminal is expected to enhance the commuting experience and improve security in the FCT.
