Following a 2-1 defeat to Benin Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifier on Monday, the Super Eagles have pledged to rebound and achieve the seemingly impossible.

Nigeria, still searching for their first win in the series, has drawn their initial three fixtures.

In the recent match held in Abidjan, Finidi George’s squad took an early lead but conceded twice before halftime.

After the loss, the team and their coach have returned to Nigeria. In a post on X confirming their arrival, the Eagles expressed their frustration, stating: “We are back in the country and we are not happy.”

“We are back in the country and we are not happy about the way the two games panned out.
“We have had talks among ourselves and have resolved to fight hard till the end to ensure we do the impossible which is qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

“We don’t take your support for granted, we thank you immensely.”
