Gianfranco Zola, a former striker for Italy, thinks Real Madrid would be a great fit for Victor Osimhen of Napoli, since the La Liga powerhouse is looking to add a star player to their roster next summer.

Additionally, he predicted Antonio Conte, a former Juventus manager, will succeed Carlo Ancelotti.

Osimhen’s contract discussions at Napoli are still pending, and he has been linked to major European and Saudi clubs.

It has also been reported that Chelsea and Arsenal, two Premier League teams, have stepped up their efforts to sign the Napoli striker.

Real Madrid are said to have prepared a whopping £342m for a new centre forward in the summer although Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland appear to be their primary target but Zola feels the La Liga giants should look elsewhere.

“There are many big names such as Mbappe, Erling Haaland and even Osimhen, who I see as a perfect fit for Real Madrid. Mbappe is slightly different from Haaland, and I don’t think Manchester City will let Haaland leave easily.

“I might choose Mbappe, given his talent and personality, he is the right fit, but he is more of a winger than a striker, so, in my opinion, Haaland or Osimhen would be better as they are classic centre forwards. Every coach has his own vision.”

In addition to becoming the first African to win the highest goal scorer accolade, Osimhen helped Napoli win the Scudetto for the first time in thirty years by scoring 26 goals in the Serie A last season.

In nine Serie A appearances so far this season, he has already scored six goals.
