For the fourth consecutive month, Victor Boniface was awarded the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month on Friday.

The Super Eagles player won the award for players under 23 after defeating Xavi Simons and Merlin Röhl in the voting, Bundesliga said on Friday.

Even though he didn’t score in the league in November, Boniface still received the honor because of his important goal contributions.

“Instead, he chipped in with two assists in the 3-2 win away at Hoffenheim on Matchday 10. The Nigerian was his usual shot-happy self with 11 attempts, but he is much more than just a classic centre-forward,” the league wrote about the 22-year-old.

“He also set up three attempts for teammates, meaning he was directly involved in a shot on goal every 18 minutes on average,” they stated.

The Bundesliga Rookie Award is a monthly award given by the DFL German Football League to the top young player in the Bundesliga as of the 2016–17 campaign. This esteemed prize honors young football players’ exceptional talent and promise.
