President Zelenskyy of Ukraine seeks to enhance ties with African nations, sharing the impact of Russia’s invasion with visiting African leaders. During a meeting in Kyiv, he emphasized the unprovoked war and highlighted distinctions with the Gaza conflict.

In his address, Zelenskyy accused Russia and Iran of benefiting from the Gaza war, asserting that they are involved. He pointed out Russia’s attempts to divert global attention from Ukraine by instigating unrest, including through the Wagner Group in Africa.

The 21-month Russia-Ukraine conflict has displaced 3.6 million and claimed over 9,000 lives. Zelenskyy expressed willingness to visit African nations, focusing on strengthening ties and streamlining grain supply. He welcomes proposals to achieve direct grain supply and addresses challenges in exporting agricultural products due to Russia’s Black Sea blockade, citing a manageable parallel export corridor.
